I know everyone who comes on here is sensible and animal lovers, but you may know some people who aren't, now that what I call the "silly season", is upon us, by that I mean these *** FIREWORKS, then please try and make people aware of what they are doing to the animals by setting these things off, it isn't just our household pets but the wildelife is suffering greatly, some of these fireworks are like mini bombs and an animals hearing is so much more sensative than humans, last night the idiots were out in force, their aim seems to be to make as much noise as possible, this morning I found my first casualty in my woodland, one of this years young Tawny Owls, it makes me so angry when it is totally unecessary. I have also been contacted by breeder friends whose pregnant queens have either aborted their kittens or given birth too soon, the loss of the above breeders kittens coincided in each case with the very loud bangs and explosions of fireworks.
I personally would like the sale of fireworks to the general public banned,
only well organised events which can be supervised should (in my opinion) , be allowed, this way we would all know when to expect the onslought, as it is now it starts 2 weeks before November 5th and carries on until after the New Year.
If anyone else feels the same as I do then get in touch with your local M.P.
I'm sure if enough people did this they would have to listen.
Christine.
